Safety in Perú

That depends on where and when...

There is delinquency in the large cities and at the various tourist points, it is true, but surely not more than in the metropolis of the developed countries...

As everywhere on the world, it is necessary to be careful, more when one is far from at home.

Generally, everything depends on the behaviour you have when you walk in the street and where you walk... It is obvious that if a tourist mopes with often expensive possessions (such as for example his last model camera around his neck, in a district of the poor suburbs...), there is extremely to bet that he will attract the bad elements of the place...

The hour and the place where you walk have obviously their importance... There is more chance to be attacked in the subway in Paris at one o’clock in the morning than at 2:00 in the afternoon...

We have to speak also about safety with regard to the taxis. In the cities, it is better to take official taxis, that you call since the reception of your hotel for example. The cost is slightly higher but it remains very accessible compared with the prices charged in other countries. You can avoid some nuisances thus, very uncalled- for during your travel.
