Medical care

The medical care is not guaranteed apart from the large cities. If you take medicines regularly, carry a sufficient quantity with you.

Don’t forget that the importation of medicines containing narcotics (ex: the methadone) or psychotropic substances is subjected to special regulations in many countries. If necessary, inform you on this subject before the departure, near the qualified foreign representation (embassy or consulate).

In addition to the various tropical diseases which prevail in certain areas of Peru, the dengue, tuberculosis and the cholera are also present. In the Andes, the symptoms of the mountain sickness should not be underestimated.
