Day 01: Cusco-Km104-Machupicchu-Machupicchu Pueblo

TRAIL - Group service english & spanish spoken

Transfer from the hotel to the train-station with direction Km 104 (2250m), between Ollantayatmbo and Machupicchu Pueblo, where we'll start hiking on this Inca Trail.
Halfway this net of trails we'll visit the archeological ruins of Chachabamba (2270m) with a professional guide. After this visit we'll continue our trek upwards to the highest point of this connection where we'll come upon Wiñaywayna (2650m).
Wiñayhuayna is the most important archeological complex inside this part of the Inca Trail. The trail continues from Wiñaywayna, passing Inti Punku (the SunGate at 2740 meters) towards Machu Picchu (2450m). Before visiting the ruins we'll take the bus down to Machupicchu Pueblo(2040 meters, a 20 minutes drive) where we'll pass the night at a hotel.
Our trekking-time will be about 6 hours in a mild climate with some mosquitoes.
