Departure in the morning by single transportation to visit the Huaca de la Luna (mochica ruin) and Chan Chan (chimú vestige). These two civilizations followed each other on the same territory, at a distance of hundreds of years. The Huaca de la Luna consists of a pyramid built towards 700 after Christ by Mochica people, where one can admire a vast necropolis and beautiful polychrome frescos. Chan Chan, the capital of Chimú civilization, set up in the arid valley of Moche, is a true metropolis, the vastest Andean pre- Columbian city (20 square km) and surely the largest adobe (earth bricks dried with the sun) city of the world. The centre was divided into districts surrounded of ramparts, with streets, houses, gardens, pyramids and necropolis.
You can have lunch at the edge of the Pacific, in Huanchaco, where you will admire the incomparable "caballitos de totora", small boats made to be rode by the fishermen like a horse... Return on Trujillo.

You leave by single bus for the excursion to the Lord of Sipán Museum and Túcume. The tomb of the Lord of Sipán, the richest one found in America, was discovered in 1987 by the archaeologist Walter Alva. It is thought that the Lord of Sipán was a governor of mochica time (from 100 to 700 years after Christ). Its tomb provided us incredible treasures, such as funeral masks, invaluable jewels, ceramics vases and objects of the diary life, likely to provide us full information on this civilization which excelled in the realism of its ceramics, weaving, metallurgy and architecture.
The site of Túcume, which belongs to the culture Lambayeque or Sicán, is composed of more than 20 pyramids in adobe of a height of almost 40m and several buildings which probably had at the same time a ritual and practical function.
