When you project to go on a journey, it is not a question to start with nothing, it is inevitably necessary to envisage a budget.

For information, it should be known that, if the cost of living in Peru is lower than in the most developed countries, it is in general higher than that of the other South American countries, except someones.

An independent traveller has to envisage a minimum of 95 €/ 120.00 per day and for person, if you count the domestic flights, the internal transportation, food, housing, the price of the entries to the parks and museums, etc… if you want to travel under reasonable conditions of comfort.

With regard to our voyages, we always envisage a certain freedom for the participants, i.e we leave free a certain number of meals (which are not included in the budget). It is indicated in the program. It is better to envisage an average of 7.50/USS 10.00 by not included meal.

The tip (propina), though being an institution in Peru, is however never an obligation. You can leave a tip in the bars and restaurants (approximately 10% of the amount of the note), to the porters in the hotels, to the drivers, the porters and cooks after the treks and to the guides in the tourist services, but never to the taxi drivers... To give an idea, one counts an average of 2$ per day and per person. If the group is reduced, you can also increase the reward... All this, of course, is only personal and corresponds with a certain satisfaction of the customer...
